The incumbent will work as part of a team, which is responsible for maintenance on the Underground fixed plant equipment on shift basis. 

 Key responsibilities will include: 

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on all Electrical & Instrumentation equipment in the Underground area.
• Involvement in small projects to improve equipment.
• Assisting supervisor in compliance with planned maintenance system.
• Carrying out root cause analysis (RCA) on instrument breakdowns.
• Carrying out scheduled and preventative maintenance on the Open Transport Network (OTN) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware for the section.
• Ensuring adherence to SHEQ standards.
• Carrying out LEGAL checks on relevant equipment.
• Fault finding knowledge on ProfiBus DP/PA and ASI Bus systems.

 Intrinsic Qualities: 

• Working knowledge of the core process.
• Good fault-finding abilities.
• Knowledge on Siemens PLC’s, CCTV systems, LAN, and telephone systems.
• Good understanding of the Palabora Integrated SHEQ system.
• Good communication skills.
• Self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
• Ability to identify potential hazards related to job and take action to perform all work within the framework of safe work practices provided.
• Willingness to work shifts.
• Adaptable to change.
